Everything you need to join Jeddah International School: entry requirements, how to apply, required documents, and the full 2026–2027 fee structure.
Admission requirements & placement policy
The basic criteria for placement are the age of the child on September 5th, as decreed by the Ministry of Education, and the school’s assessment of the child during the admissions process — including maturity, previous educational experience, and level of achievement in English and Math (at least 60% at the time of entry).
Given the international nature of our community, children who do not satisfy the starting-date criteria are considered case by case by the Deputy Director, so that placement is in the child’s best interests. The school reserves the right to place each child in the class deemed most appropriate and beneficial to that child.
How to apply
- Meet the Admissions Officer. Your first point of contact for general information about the school and the admission process; a meeting with the Section Principal is arranged.
- Meet the Section Principal. A briefing on school programmes and the shared obligations of school, parent and student. A school tour can be arranged on request.
- Submit your application. Complete the application form and submit it with all required documents to the Admissions Officer. School reports and records must be certified translations in English or French.
- Placement testing. The school arranges any testing needed, and the Section Principal confirms class placement.
Documents required
- Registration form
- Five recent passport-size photos
- Copies of all previous school records, including the most recent report card
- Clear passport copies for the student and their father/guardian
- Iqama copy (the student must appear on the parents’ Iqama)
- Family ID (for Saudi students)
- Ministry transfer letter (for students transferring from another school in Saudi Arabia)
The file must be complete before a placement test is given.
Admissions criteria for Grades 9–12 (English Section)
Our preference is that students complete our Middle School and the four-year High School programme, meeting the criteria for the JIS/MSA/AdvancED High School Diploma. Students joining from other schools receive the JIS/MSA diploma if they meet the admissions entry criteria, complete the placement test, and provide Ministry-approved original reports from their previous school(s).
The school and parents
- The school and its representatives take all reasonable care to ensure the educational and physical well-being of every student, and undertake to inform parents in a timely fashion of any areas of concern.
- Parents are responsible for getting their child to school on time each day.
